The Holy Spirit tells those whom he sends out to which land they must go and which land they should avoid, which men they should speak with and before which they should be silent, as Jesus was silent before Herod. The sending out by the Holy Spirit guarantees the guidance and leading of the Holy Spirit. We do not know what will happen. We do not know which people will be ready. We do not know which people are expectant, or if somewhere there is a completely united church, where a greater reality of the future kingdom of justice, peace, and unity is to be felt.

- Eberhard ArnoldLet us ask God that in the horrors of the present time men awake, not only in tens and hundreds but in thousands upon thousands. Let us ask that many awake and search their hearts and turn to God, who created them; that they become one with the death of Christ, suffering death rather than killing others; that they become one with the life in Christ and his love so that they surrender all their powers, gifts, and means of livelihood rather than keeping anything for themselves; that they become one with the truth of God so that they break with the whole web of lies that enmeshes the world; that they become one with the heart of Jesus and reject all unclean spirits.

We must send out the news to all men which calls them to a way of communal brotherliness and allows them to be released from all strife and become men in unity with the spirit of the future, which is the spirit of righteous¬ness. And it will happen just so far as we have faith. Therefore we come together to call upon God, where we find an answer for what is to happen, for that which moves the whole world and what has to be done in the face of this world hour.

We believe that all men, however deeply they may have sunk into darkness and gloom, yet have a spark of light in the depth of their hearts. We believe that this spark of light in every person must in the end gather them all together into one immense sea of light: community in God. That is our task in the midst of this world, amidst the starry universe, amidst the countless peoples all over the earth.
