Jesus tells us not to gather riches on this earth, but to gather the fortune found in love. Let your whole fortune be love, so that wherever you go hearts will open to you. You will be met with hatred because you bring justice, and you will be persecuted and hounded to death for not taking part in injustice. But you will be received with great love in huts which are open for you, and you will be taken in because you bring love.

- Eberhard Arnold InnerlandThe experience of God is the love that conquers all opposition. It is the strength of the new creation. It is the spirit of God’s coming dominion. It is the unique element of the new structure. It is the herald of the new time. It is the organic power of unity. It is the building up of the new humanity. In the Church of Jesus Christ, God is experienced. In the Church of complete love, God’s Spirit brings Christ’s kingdom of perfect justice to the earth. The experience of God means the rulership of God in the Church of Jesus Christ.

Therefore we take no active part in politics or in the use of violence. We make no concessions, we refuse to get involved; but we are not indifferent. Every politician interests us, whoever he may be. And we wish everyone in politics could hear about us and realize that there is a life of justice and peace, where people have joy in one another. We wish that all policy-makers might be guided by these goals and not stray too far from the way of peace and justice.

We do not withhold our respect from God-ordained government. (Rom. 13:1) Our calling, however, is a completely different one; it brings with it an order of society utterly different from anything that is possible in the State and the present social order. That is why we refuse to swear oaths before any court of law; we refuse to serve in any state as soldiers or policemen; we refuse to serve in any important government post – for all these are connected with law courts, the police, or the military.
